Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>John 8:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it<\/em><\/strong>. John 1:5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Peace + to you in Jesus Christ, the Light of the world<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>            Sometimes the darkness seems just to get thicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It could be your own personal darkness, of family difficulties, or of financial hardship, or of grief, or of guilt that won\u2019t go away.&nbsp; Whatever it is, it makes it hard to see the light of day.&nbsp; Some days even the daylight outside seems to be mocking us in our darkness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It could be the darkness of this world, with conflict bringing storm clouds across the nations, darkness we perhaps thought would not happen any more in our \u2018enlightened\u2019 world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Here\u2019s the bad news.&nbsp; It will likely get darker.&nbsp; The world is broken apart by sin, my sin, our sin, the sin of the oppressors and the sin of everyday people.&nbsp; The Bible shows us how the darkness deepens in this world, from Genesis 3 to Revelation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Here\u2019s the Good News.&nbsp; Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, came right into the middle of the darkness, in the fullness of time, in a time as dark as ours.&nbsp; He came to bear the sin of the world, to die with it on the darkest day there ever was when the Living God paid for our death with His death.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jesus rose from the dead.&nbsp; Jesus rose from the dead.&nbsp; He is living, now, not just far away in the light of heaven, but also here among us through His Word and His Sacramental Gifts.&nbsp; No matter how dark it gets, the Light of Christ still shines, here, now, and forever.&nbsp; Join us here, to hear Jesus, to receive His light that the darkness cannot overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>           The darkness deepens, Lord with me abide&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Jesus, the Light of the world,&nbsp;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, &#8220;I am the Light of the world.
