PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, Who rules the world with truth and grace, grant us through the wisdom of Your Word and the renewal of Your Supper to live faithfully as members of Your kingdom in this present age, and to be received by Your Father forever; for You live and reign with Your Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Do you like working with children? Have you thought about helping with Sunday School, but can’t make a long-term commitment? Faith Sunday School is looking for a few volunteers to be substitute teachers for weeks when a regular teacher is away or ill. If interested, please contact Angela at angelaeggen@gmail.com.
NICARAGUA FOOD GIFT PROJECT – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Thanks to the Central American Committee Fund, over 755 food gifts were purchased for members of all the Nicaraguan congregations as part of an emergency appeal following poor crop yields. These gifts were distributed for the Advent season. As a result, the Central American Fund balance is now zero.

NEW PROJECT FOR NICARAGUA: CHRISTMAS FOOD HAMPERS
We are collecting funds over the next two weeks for 60 Christmas food hampers for church workers and Mission Centre staff in Nicaragua. Our goal is $1,500 CDN ($25 per hamper).
Please make your gift by October 25 so Rev. Roggow can take the funds to Nicaragua in early November.

Community Cupboard:
Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is very pleased to announce that we will be continuing our Food Days Program until March 2027. We have been running Community Cupboard all summer and have had so many guests offer their sincere thanks for helping them to feed their families.
We are always in need of cereal, crackers, canned meats, pancake mix and syrup, honey, and sugar. These items can be dropped off at the church office Monday to Thursday between 9am and 1pm. Donations to the Community Cupboard Fund are also gratefully received.
EDLYA Fall Retreat: November 6th-8th
Calling all young adults (ages 18-35)! The next East District Lutheran Young Adults retreat will be November 6th-8th in Wellesley, Ontario. Join us at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for a weekend of games, worship, food, and fellowship with other young adults. Pastor John Rapp will be our guest speaker on Saturday morning at 10am, leading our study of God’s Word. Cost is $30, including 5 meals.

We have a use for gently-used Portals of Prayer and other devotional booklets! If you bring yours back to church and place it in the box beneath the literature table, it will make its way to edify women at a women’s shelter in Hamilton.
